PRECLINICAL AND CLINICAL IMAGING - Communication Accelerated Contrast-Enhanced Whole-Heart Coronary MRI Using Low-Dimensional-Structure Self-Learning and Thresholding

چکیده
We sought to evaluate the efficacy of prospective random undersampling and low-dimensional-structure self-learning and thresholding reconstruction for highly accelerated contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary MRI. A prospective random undersampling scheme was implemented using phase ordering to minimize artifacts due to gradient switching and was compared to a randomly undersampled acquisition with no profile ordering. This profile-ordering technique was then used to acquire contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary MRI in 10 healthy subjects with 4-fold acceleration. Reconstructed images and the acquired zero-filled images were compared for depicted vessel length, vessel sharpness, and subjective image quality on a scale of 1 (poor) to 4 (excellent). In a pilot study, contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary MRI was also acquired in four patients with suspected coronary artery disease with 3fold acceleration. The undersampled images were reconstructed using low-dimensional-structure self-learning and thresholding, which showed significant improvement over the zero-filled images in both objective and subjective measures, with an overall score of 3.6 6 0.5. Reconstructed images in patients were all diagnostic. Low-dimensional-structure self-learning and thresholding reconstruction allows contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary MRI with acceleration as high as 4-fold using clinically available five-channel phased-array coil. Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Ischemic Heart Disease
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has emerged as a prime player in the clinical and preclinical detection of ischemic heart disease (IHD) as well in the prognosis assessment by offering a comprehensive approach for all spectrums of coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. The aim of this review is to provide the reader a state-of-the art on how the newest cardiac MRI techniques can be use...
متن کاملGPU-Accelerated Compartmental Modeling Analysis of DCE-MRI Data from Glioblastoma Patients Treated with Bevacizumab
The compartment model analysis using medical imaging data is the well-established but extremely time consuming technique for quantifying the changes in microvascular physiology of targeted organs in clinical patients after antivascular therapies. In this paper, we present a first graphics processing unit-accelerated method for compartmental modeling of medical imaging data. Using this approach,...

متن کاملDynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) in Preclinical Studies of Antivascular Treatments
Antivascular treatments can either be antiangiogenic or targeting established tumour vasculature. These treatments affect the tumour microvasculature and microenvironment but may not change clinical measures like tumour volume and growth. In research on antivascular treatments, information on the tumour vasculature is therefore essential. Preclinical research is often used for optimization of a...
متن کاملROCKETSHIP: a flexible and modular software tool for the planning, processing and analysis of dynamic MRI studies
BACKGROUND Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is a promising technique to characterize pathology and evaluate treatment response. However, analysis of DCE-MRI data is complex and benefits from concurrent analysis of multiple kinetic models and parameters. Few software tools are currently available that specifically focuses on DCE-MRI analysis with multiple kinetic mo...
